Part 7 Prices
This section gives updated prices (in pence) for generic drugs included in Part 7 of the Drug Tariff. It is updated as necessary each month (current data is updated to August 2008) and is published as soon as possible. The prices published for July will remain in force for three months unless exceptional circumstances apply.

All prices are subject to 11.4% discount except where ZD is indicated.

Categories for Part 7

• Category M
  readily available drugs where the reimbursement price is calculated by the Department of Health using information submitted by manufacturers.
  
• Category A
  readily available drugs where a weighted average price is calculated from the list prices published by a number of manufacturers and wholesalers.
  
• Category B
  products where usage has declined over time and the price is based on that published by Unichem, failing that AAH, failing that Thornton & Ross.
  
• Category P
  products where the price is based on that of a particular brand.
