Alex Salmond MSP Visits New Deer Pharmacy

Scotland’s First Minister has seen for himself the valuable work carried out in Community Pharmacies following a visit in his own constituency.

Alex Salmond MSP for Aberdeenshire East visited the newly refurbished pharmacy in New Deer, Grampian on the 5th August 2011. The visit of Mr Salmond was organised by the owner, Sarah Purdie, to celebrate the opening of her refurbished pharmacy in New Deer. He met with Sarah and members of her team to see at first hand the important work that community pharmacists now provide on the front line of the modern NHS. Sarah said: “I was delighted to welcome Mr Salmond to open my new improved pharmacy at New Deer. After a busy six weeks in which we have totally revamped the pharmacy to give us more space and improved facilities to support the delivery of the new pharmacy contract and provide an even better service to our patients. The whole process was a real team effort and I would like to thank my staff for all their hard work.”
