Fergus Ewing MSP Visits John A Smith Pharmacy in Niddrie
MSP Fergus Ewing was given an opportunity to see how community pharmacists are helping deliver modern healthcare when he visited John A Smith Pharmacy owned by Alan Glauch in Niddrie recently.
Recent joint work between Community Pharmacy Scotland and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has succeeded in bringing to the minister’s attention the value of the service pharmacists provide through dispensing and supervision of methadone.
During this visit representatives of both CPS and RPS were able to show Mr Ewing the realities of dispensing controlled drugs, signposting of patients to other care settings , and also to discuss access to health records.
