BNF Cautionary Labels Made More User-Friendly

British National Formulary cautionary and advisory labels for medicines have been revised for the first time in almost 30 years to make them more easily understandable by patients. The revised labels appear in Appendix 9 of the latest edition of the BNF, published next week.

The original labels were user-tested as part of research carried out by Theo Raynor, director of Luto Research, and his team, who recommended revision of their wording to reflect terminology that is better understood by patients.
