A petition to force the UK to scrap the three-year rule preventing EU pharmacists being the responsible pharmacists if registered less than three years, will appear before the EU parliament next week.
The petition was submitted by French locum pharmacist Dr Fosso Taga after the Department of Health said it would scrap the restriction, but did not provide a date for when these changes would happen.
Dr Taga initially challenged the DoH in 2009 as he claimed their rules were discriminatory.
He confirmed that he would attend the hearing in Brussels on November 9, where he will be given five minutes to present his case.
