Chronic Medication Service Implementation Support

Implementation of the Chronic Medication Service is expected to start steadily and incrementally from April 2010.

Information for contractors to support training is starting to become available.  The first source of information is the Chronic Medication Service Support Pack. This pack will support understanding of the full service and its underpinning IT.

Chronic Medication Service Check List

Community Pharmacy Scotland has now concluded lengthy negotiations with the Scottish Government on the implementation of the new Chronic Medication Service during 2010.

In light of this Community Pharmacy Scotland has updated the CMS checklist.

Chronic Medication Service (CMS) Poster & Patient Information Leaflet

The CMS patient information leaflet and poster are available in the Publicity Material section of the NHS Scotland Website.

A small number of leaflets will be sent to community pharmacists for the implementation phase.
