The effect of the implementation in October 2007 of a significant cut in the reimbursement prices for Category M products dominated the remainder of last year’s negotiations on a new global sum for 2008/09. Following months of work we finally reached a position where we were able to announce that a full costs survey would be conducted, together with agreement on a new financial package, which included a supplementary support package pending the results of the costs survey, and the introduction of two new PHS services.
