Physical Activity

The campaign started in July 2008 and aims to involve people in taking positive steps towards improving their health.

Community Pharmacists will have received marketing materials to help support a major new Scottish Government health initiative.

The 'Take Life On' initiative aims to provide tips about what to choose when eating out, how to fit in the recommended 30 minutes brisk walking five times a week, and suggests everyone should have two alcohol-free days per week.

Human Papilloma Virus vaccination

This campaign will coincide with the launch of the vaccination programme for 12-18 year olds in Scotland.

Community Pharmacists may have seen the pack 'Together we can fight cervical cancer' which contained advance information for healthcare professionals about the new HPV immunisation programme.

Flu vaccination

Flu and the importance of vaccination will again be reinforced with the poster campaign.

The Infoscotland website provides good information for the public along with supporting leaflets to encourage uptake of the vaccination.

The Health Scotland website on Flu immunisation provides links to the Green Book and Scottish Government circulars on Influenza vaccination.

Minor Ailment Service

This campaign will once again promote the Minor Ailment Service at a critical period of Christmas and New Year.

Christmas and New Year 2008 will once again see the return to four day periods of holidays.

The Minor Ailment Service and the Unscheduled Care PGD will be seen as vital tools to help support patients access to treatment and medicines over the festive period.

Smoking Cessation Service

Advertising the new PHS Smoking Cessation Service will be key to improving public awareness of availability.

The poster campaign will be start after New Year to coincide with a peak period for smokers to consider quitting.
